Pietro Nolita & Brandy Melville Soho

NYC is without a doubt one of the best places in the world for pictures. It's a blogger's paradise! One of my favorite places to shoot at is Pietro Nolita (and really the entire area surrounding it lol). The pink walls and cute plants make for such an amazing backdrop! I'm a huge Brandy Melville fan, and when my sister and I saw this top, we both needed it! It's a thermal white top with rainbow "Los Angeles 1984" written across it. You can find it on their website here! I paired it with some high rise distressed denim shorts and some old Zara flats. My sunglasses are from Khloe Kardashian's DIFF line. My bag is Rebecca Minkoff.

Stripes and Florals

Stripes and florals are everywhere right now! It can seem like a bit of an overwhelming combination, but when it's done right, it looks amazing! I found this dress from the Target Who What Wear collection. I am seriously obsessed with this whole line and I have another shirt that I got from it (and will be on the blog soon!). This dress particularly caught my eye because it can been worn just about anywhere. It can be dressed up with heels or with flats for a more casual look. Find the exact dress here! It also comes in a red option here!

I also linked a bunch of my favorite dresses from the line here!

I usually have everything in one link, but ShopStyle wasn't recognizing certain styles in the lists! But as always, they're all linked! My shoes are really old (and I love them so much!) from Aldo. My bag is from Rebecca Minkoff and my sunglasses are from J. Crew.

Star Jumpsuit & Fringe Jacket

I wore this jumpsuit to Nashville last year and it's the comfiest thing EVER! Seriously, jumpsuits ftw. I love the black and white star pattern. It's trendy but not too trendy, lol. I paired it with my new favorite jacket! I'm a huge denim person when it comes to jeans, but for whatever reason, I've never really been a denim jacket girl. I have one "plain" one from GAP and now this one from Blank NYC. It's so soft and comfy! (You know, me and comfy clothes = life). This jacket is oversized and just all around such a good piece! I can wear it now into spring, then in the summer and also go into fall with it! I wore these round sunglasses from H&M (they aren't my favorite brand, bad business practices and whatnot) but I love these! Legit think it's the first thing I've bought from them in two years. Anyway...lastly my shoes! I pretty much live in these things! They're on sale so check out this link for all my outfit details!! http://www.shopstyle.com/collective/WhatEmWore/43070444

My bag is from Marie, she owns MaadGoods. She sent me this circle leather bag from her Etsy page! How cute is it?! Check out her website here: MaadGoods

Embroidered Crop Cami

Am I the only one that’s super excited that lace is making a comeback? It seems so much better this time, lol. I spotted one of my favorite YouTubers showing the dress version of this shirt in one of her newer videos. Her name is Sarah Belle and if you haven’t seen her, you should definitely check her out!

I immediately wanted to get the dress! I scoured my Forever 21 and could only find the crop top of the same style. Even though I was disappointed, I realize I’m not a huge dress person, so it wasn’t really a let down. I’m linking everything in this post in this link: http://www.shopstyle.com/collective/WhatEmWore/43066683, so be sure to check it out if you love this trend like I do!

As with most of my outfits these days, I paired the shirt with my Abercrombie girlfriend jeans. I think every brand is great for some and terrible for others. For whatever reason, Abercrombie has generally always fit me the best. Believe it or not, I kind of have a butt/hips, so finding jeans that fit right can be a bit of a struggle. I’m also on the shorter side, so finding ones that I don’t have to to cuff can also be a pain. But nonetheless, I love the fit of these and absolutely love the girlfriend/boyfriend/mom jean fit- they’re going to make dad jeans a thing next! If you ask me, I think mom jeans are the most comfortable and are the most flattering silhouette. Girlfriend jeans can still be too tight and boyfriend jeans, too loose.

Of course, I paired this outfit with one of my favorite heels/sandals ever. They’re from Call It Spring and I would wear them with every outfit in the spring and summer if I could. My cardigan is really old and I don’t even know where it’s from, but again, I’ll link similar options for ya! My glasses are the Quay x Desi high key mini in silver and my bag is Gigi New York.

Purple Gingham

I don't know about you, but I'm pumped that it's finally warmer out! I actually shot this about a month ago...and it was freezing that day! But we got it done and I love the lighting so much. I've recently started using Rent the Runway- which I think every blogger should try out. I've mentioned before how I'm into sustainability. While I'm definitely not the epitome of someone who lives a super sustainable lifestyle, I try to do little things to be better. The pieces I do buy, I make sure I will love for years to come. When you shop, do you get something because it's on sale, or it's cute for now? Or do you get it because you really love it and can see yourself wearing it two years down the road? Believe me, you save money and a potentially messy room (lol) by choosing better. If you haven't see the documentary "The True Cost,", please do yourself a favor and watch it. It changed my life and I hope it inspires you to even make small changes in yours. Well that was an unintentional rant...

Rent the Runway is sustainable and still so cute! They have countless amazing designers and styles. I paid for two shirts this go around and will probably do their 4 piece option soon. This top is from the brand Petersyn- which has become a favorite of mine! While it's not affordable, I got to rent it for $25 (they have deals all the time!). I also linked similar options here: http://www.shopstyle.com/collective/WhatEmWore/43062131

I paired this top with these fun Just Black jeans, they're so comfortable! I also got these platform espadrilles from Marshall's a few years back and they're actually really comfortable too! The bag is my friend's, and completely adds to the beachy vibes.

Sweater Weather with a Pop of Color

Originally published on November 8, 2017

It's that time of year again, I'm stoked for sweater weather! I saw a cardigan that Emily Gemma had a while back and I wanted it so badly. I had seen it before she posted it and it was sold out in my size, and then once she posted it- it was completely sold out! I saw this sweater at TJ Maxx and it instantly reminded me of her cardigan. I think mock neck sweaters and turtlenecks are the best for fall! They add something extra to any sweater and it really completes the look. I love the color block stripes on this sweater- orange and pink are so pretty together! I picked out my favorite mock neck sweaters for you guys below. I tried to find some color block options but there aren't many online. I think your best bet is to to go TJ Maxx and shop around! The hunt is always fun and each store is always so different. The TJ Maxx sweaters I linked aren't showing in the LikeToKnowIt wheel I have down below, they just look like handbags- they're not! haha Just a head up, they are sweaters. Similar jeans and shoes are also listed! So...who's ready for Reputation this Friday?! I'm headed to Disney World in a week and a half, can't wait to blog/vlog and be back in the most magical place on Earth!

Suzies Seashells Peta Tunic

Originally published on August 2, 2017

As most of you know, Show Me Your Mumu is one of my favorite beachy brands. I am a huge print lover and they always deliver! When I saw this Peta tunic I had to scoop it up! For those of you that love Mu but naturally don’t love the steep price- always check their retailer’s websites and social media because they almost always have some sort of sale going on! I found this tunic at KK Bloom Boutique for half off, and I had a gift card! I love pastels, shells and anything flowy- so of course this was a win for me lol. The blues, yellows and pinks running through this top are soo stunning!

I paired it with white American Eagle shorts, and an Aerie light pink bralette. I also wore this amazing lariat necklace from Amanda Deer. She’s on Etsy and I fell in love with her styles the second I spotted them! I wore these really fun slides from Zara, they’re from last summer but I’ll link similar ones below! I shot this look at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Let me tell you, it’s unreal! I also finally got my new lens and I can’t wait to step up my blogging game for the rest of this summer and going into the fall. I am going to do an in depth review of my lens for my Sony a5000 on my YouTube channel very soon!

Southern Charm

We found the best murals in Nashville! If you haven’t checked out my Instagram- then you need to go see for yourself! https://www.instagram.com/whatemwore Where I live, murals are basically non-existent, so it was really great to be able to shoot with so many of them in close proximity. We found this rainbow wall and it totally matched my dress. I found this dress at TJ Maxx. I couldn't find mine online but here are some similar options! Here, here and here. This floral off the shoulder number was flowy and perfect for the activities we found ourselves running around to. When in doubt, wear a dress. I was never a dress person in high school, and honestly wasn’t for most of college. But I’ve realized they are the easiest way to look put together and be comfortable all at the same time, and if you know me, you know I’m all about that life! I paired it with the same Target boots I wore in the my last post, check it out if you want the link to similar options! (and to see my amazing star jumpsuit haha) I really want to be as consistent as possible this summer, but my schedule is currently all over the place! I will be posting vacation outfits as well as more fun summer outfits when I get the chance this month!

I’d really appreciate if you guys left any comments or questions you have for me in the comment section below! I absolutely love hearing your feedback and knowing what’s your favorite, what you want to see more of and even what you want to see less of! lol

Free People Pretty Pineapple Dress

Originally published on June 28, 2017

The second I saw this Free People dress,(also here and here) I knew I had to have it! This may sound crazy to those of you that aren’t into fashion, but certain pieces immediately grab my attention and I know I will have them for life. I’ve recently really found my sense of style and have stuck to only buying items that I love. You're probably thinking, "Emily, you're a fashion blogger- what do you mean?!" Well, it took me like four years but I have figured out what works for me and what I like the most! Anything flowy that has the right color and pattern, is go for me. We’ve all been there, we buy something because it’s on sale or it’s cute…enough, and then we hardly ever wear it. I want to find more pieces that I can see myself wearing all the time. I’m clearly going on a tangent, but there are only a handful of clothes I had in high school that I still wear today. I want to look back years from now and still have the same pieces that I chose today.

That being said, I’ve also found that it’s okay to spend a little more on something that you truly love. We all know that Free People (and their sister brand, Anthropologie) is no Forever 21. But, I’m glad they’re not. With these brands, I always find that the items I choose to purchase feel more “special”. Okay, yet again you non-fashion minded people probably won’t get this. But, it’s that special quality that I get with them that ensures they will be lifelong items. So after that little segment, the story behind this dress is: I was backstage at my last dance rehearsal ever and I was naturally distracting myself by browsing through ShopBop. I saw this dress, that I have seen before- but this time it was on sale ($45!!), the last one in my size and the last one in stock. We see where this going. I scooped it up and have loved wearing it ever since. I just realized that I wore the same booties in basically all of my Nashville posts so there’s that. They’re from Target and I’ve linked similar options here and here.

As much as I love scoping out my nearest TJ Maxx, I have learned that it’s quality over quantity. Especially with my blog posts, but I have to try and find happy medium with that. haha I hope that you all think of one of Vivienne Westwood's quotes, that I find funny- and true! "Buy less. Choose well. Make it last. Quality, not quantity. Everybody's buying far too many clothes."

I Believe in Nashville

Originally published on June 19, 2017

Long time, no blog. lol I have been soo busy since I graduated, I legit hit the ground running! I started my internship and went to Nashville last week. Honestly, it’s one of the coolest places I’ve ever been to. I loved every second of it and can’t wait to go back. I was surrounded by country music for a week, as well as tons of great spots to shoot blog photos at- what more could I ask for?! I saw some of my favorite artists and had the best food EVER. haha All in all it was such a fun trip and I’m glad that I got to experience it for the first time.

Naturally my first Nashville blog post (there will be 3-4), is centered on the “I Believe In Nashville” mural that has definitely become an unofficial landmark! I have wanted to take a picture near it for the longest time, so naturally Alex and I had to hit it up. I chose to wear the comfiest jumpsuit to the wall. I love stars so I felt it was completely necessary to get this fun one piece! It’s from TJ Maxx, (click the bolded letters and it will take you right to it!) and I’ve linked some similar ones here and here. It's black with white stars and it gets tighter towards the top, which is great because it gives me some shape. Seriously, don’t forget about this trend because it’s not only completely chic, but also very easy. I paired them with my super old Target booties, you can't go wrong with Target! I've linked similar options here and here.  I also picked up this Tommy Hilfiger mini backpack when I was at TJ Maxx. I couldn't find the exact one but here is a similar option! I honestly didn't intend for this post to be so patriotic, but it definitely fits in the Fourth of July outfit category! I am going to try and put up a new blog post and a new YouTube video on the same day, so be sure to check out my vlogs from the trip as well!

Spring into Summer

Originally published on May 3, 2017

When you find a shirt that matches your blog logo, you kind of have to get it! lol I found this top from Free People. I've linked the Blue mystic tunic (on sale!) and the Pink mystic tunic I'm wearing as well! I love anything flowy and pastel, so this was screaming my name. The cut outs on the sleeves add an extra element to the top as well. I paired it with American Eagle shorts and Platform espadrilles. I also love these ones: Pink espadrilles and Topshop espadrilles.

What are your favorite trends so far for this summer? If you guys are into bags, I recommend checking out my newest video! I've been loving sharing my thoughts on designers, and plan to make more videos like this in the future!

Also kind of random but I am going to Nashville in June!! I mentioned it on my Twitter and Instagram, but I am headed to the CMA Fest! I love country music and can't wait to see all of my favorite artists in one place. Anyone from Nashville or familiar with it, please leave any food/shopping suggestions in the comments! I'll be blogging and vlogging my whole trip!

Make sure to follow me on Instagram! @WhatEmWore
